2016 IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series Schedule Released
The IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series schedule has been released. There are a few notable changes to the 30th annual Iowa base IMCA Late Model tour.
The motto for the 2016 Deery Brothers Summer Series is More Money For More Drivers More Often. There is a new payout structure for all 17 Summer Series main events. Also new in 2016, a new non-qualifier feature will be contested at races with at least 32 entries, and there will be a point fund payout halfway through the season.
Two of the more noticeable changes to the 2016 schedule involve the Yankee Dirt Track Classic and the tours annual trip to the IMCA Super Nationals.
Farley Speedway has moved the running of annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic. The 39th edition of the famed event will serve as a lead-in into the Labor Day Weekend. The Summer Series race dates will be contested on Friday & Saturday September 2 & 3.
The IMCA Late Model tour will travel to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway on Thursday (Sep. 8, 2016) instead of its usual Monday Labor Day visit. Winners also go home with a bigger share of the purse.
There will also be a mid-season point fund. The $9,325 paid out will be based on standings after the ninth event, which would be Wednesday, July 6 at Independence Motor Speedway barring any rainouts and/or reschedulings.
Entry fee for each Deery event will be $50. Maximum pit pass fee will be $30.
Justin Kay of Wheatland is the two-time defending series champion. Darrel DeFrance of Marshalltown has competed at every event in series history, a streak that now reaches 451 races.
