The 2018 ACM Awards nominees have been announced, and although many of the expected artists dominated the main categories, this year brings an unusual flood of artists who are nominated across multiple categories.

Chris Stapleton leads the 2018 ACM Awards nominations with eight, including his first-ever nomination for ACM Entertainer of the Year. Stapleton is also up for Male Vocalist of the Year, and he's nominated twice — as artist and producer — for both Album of the Year and Single Record of the Year. Stapleton earned the Album of the Year nod for From a Room: Volume 1, and the Single Record of the Year nod goes to "Broken Halos." Stapleton is also nominated twice — as artist and songwriter — for Song of the Year for "Whiskey and You."

Thomas Rhett earned six nominations, including his second Male Vocalist of the Year nod. Rhett is also nominated twice — as artist and producer — for both Album of the Year (for Life Changes) and Vocal Event of the Year (for "Craving You"). "Craving You" is a duet with Maren Morris that was released as the lead single from Life Changes. Rhett is also nominated for the first time in the category of Music Video of the Year for his "Marry Me" video, along with director TK McKamy and producer Dan Atchison.
