New trading hours will start October 27th for livestock futures after a survey found a request for the move by CME Group. The changes were announced Friday, and will reduce electronic trading hours for CME livestock products. Tim Andriesen, Managing Director for Agricultural Commodities and Alternative Investments, stated “based on that feedback we have determined we should reduce electronic trading hours for our livestock products.” The changes to the livestock products trading schedule are pending CFTC review.

Starting Monday, October 27th, electronic trading hours will run from 9:05 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, central time on Mondays. Tuesday through Thursday, electronic trading hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. central time. Friday’s hours will be shortened to 8:00 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. central time. Open-outcry trading hours for CME Livestock futures and options products will not be impacted by this adjustment.
