Chris Stapleton Shares Powerful ‘Fire Away’ Music Video
Chris Stapleton has released a powerful music video for his song "Fire Away."
Directed by Tim Mattia and starring Ben Foster and Margarita Levieva, the "Fire Away" video tells the story of a couple in love, with a tragic ending. Foster plays a police officer while Levieva plays his fiancee, who is struggling with mental health issues. Press play on the video above to watch the clip.
Stapleton's "Fire Away" video, which the singer conceived himself, aims to bring attention to the culture of mental health awareness, specifically through the Campaign to Change Direction. Foster introduced Stapleton to the organization, which strives to change the culture about mental health, mental illness and wellness in the United States. Throughout the clip, Leieva's character portrays the five signs of emotional suffering -- change in personality, agitation, withdrawal, decline in personal care and hopelessness -- and the video ends with the Campaign's web address onscreen.
"Fire Away" comes off of Stapleton's critically acclaimed, award-winning, No. 1 debut album, Traveller, which was released in May of 2015. Both the song and the record are available for download on iTunes. The singer-songwriter also has a new song coming out this month, as part of producer Dave Cobb's Southern Family concept album: "You Are My Sunshine" is a duet between Stapleton and his wife Morgane.
