Charges Filed in Weekend Rollover Accident

A Waukon man is being charged with causing a rollover accident that happened last week in rural Fayette County.

Just before 7am Sunday, Feb. 19, the Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a rollover accident near Clermont.

The vehicle was found in a parking lot in Clermont, but the driver was missing.

Following an investigation, it was determined that 38 year old Steven Gelo was driving east on Harding Road early that morning, when he lost control and rolled the car in a ditch.

Gelo had minor injuries; his 2008 Nissan Maxima was totaled.

Gelo is being charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
