Charges Filed in Bremer County Accident

A Fredericksburg motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident early Sunday, south of Fredericksburg, in rural Bremer County.

Just before 12:30am, a southbound car driven by 42 year old Ranae Carey, crossed the center line of Piedmont Avenue and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by 71 year old Loren Sommerfelt of Sumner.

Both vehicles came to a rest in a ditch, with substantial damage. No injuries were reported.

Carey is being charged with OWI, failure to maintain control, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
