A young Cedar Falls woman has been arrested for allegedly holding up a convenience store with a knife.

The incident happened just before 7pm Monday, at the Prime Mart Convenience store, located on Center Street in Cedar Falls.
A woman, armed with a large knife, asked for cigarettes, and then told the clerk to give her cash from the register. Her face was partially covered by a scarf. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses told police that they recognized the woman's voice, as well as the coat she was wearing, as she was a frequent customer at the store, and lived a few blocks away.

Following the investigation, 21 year old Cheyanne Meany was taken into custody Tuesday. Authorities searched her home and found a knife under her bed, and a wet, blue coat in her attic.

Meany is being charged with first degree robbery. If convicted, Meany faces up to 25 years in prison.
