The University of Iowa baseball team stayed alive with a 2-1, 11-inning victory over Oregon in an elimination game on Sunday afternoon before seeing its season come to a close with a 3-2 loss to Missouri State in the night cap in a Springfield Regional final at Hammons Field.
Missouri State scored all five of its runs in two innings to rally from a 2-0 deficit to hand the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team a 5-3 loss in a winner’s bracket game in the NCAA Springfield Regional on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Hammons Field.
Junior Tyler Peyton tossed 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball to propel the second-seeded University of Iowa baseball team to a 3-1 NCAA Regional victory over third-seeded Oregon on Friday afternoon at Hammons Field. It is the Hawkeyes’ first NCAA Tournament victory in 43 years.
