A one-vehicle accident in Butler County has put one person in the hospital.

It happened shortly after 3pm Thursday (Oct. 20) on County Road C-13, north of Clarksville.

An eastbound pickup driven by 65 year old James Leerhoff of Clarksville, left the road, entered a ditch, went through a fence, and struck a tree.

The truck was pulling a grain wagon, that detached from the pickup.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Leerhoff did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt.

He was taken to the Waverly Health Center; a condition report was not available.
