The Brothers Osborne made a special appearance at a Colorado dispensary to record two of the songs off their recent album, Port Saint JoeReaders can press play above to watch the brothers, John and TJ Osborne, play "Shoot Me Straight," part of the acoustic show that took place at Terrapin Care Station marijuana dispensaries.

The Brothers Osborne have long been fearless advocates of cannabis, extolling its virtues in songs like "Greener Pastures" and "Weed, Whiskey and Willie." Port Saint Joe was released, appropriately enough, on April 20. At the dispensary, they also performed one of their latest songs "Pushing Up Daisies (Love Alive)."

In a recent interview with The Boot, John Osborne, one half of the duo, detailed why "Pushing Up Daisies" is one of his favorite songs on Port Saint Joe: Their co-writer for the track, Kendall Marvel, came up with the idea to have a song that featured the lyric, "We ain't gettin' out of this love alive."

"I immediately go dark -- I love going negative -- so I thought it was cool to have a song where you're in a relationship and it's so tough and tumultuous that you're going to kill each other," John recalls of his initial interpretation of the songs lyrics.

However, he'd missed the point: The idea behind the song was, on the contrary, about a relationship so wonderful that the only thing that can separate the pair of lovers is death. "It was actually a much cooler twist that way, because it's an amazing way to say, 'We'll be together forever,'" John goes on to say.

Seated in the midst of budding marijuana plants as tall as the brothers themselves, the guys seem right at home in the hazy light of a grow room as they pick and strum their way through the harmonies of their blues-driven single, "Shoot Me Straight."

The Brothers are on tour in Europe now and will join Dierks Bentley on his aptly named Mountain High tour,  which launches May 18th in the Brothers' home state of Maryland and includes up-and-coming country act Lanco.
