Two summer-long construction projects will impact traffic in Bremer County, starting on Tuesday (May 29, 2018).

State transportation officials are scheduled to close portions of Iowa Highway 3 and Iowa Highway 93 at 8 AM, weather permitting. According to a press release, the road work will require traffic on both highways to be detoured for several weeks while the projects are being completed.

Iowa 3 is scheduled to be closed until mid-October between County Roads V-56 and V-62. Workers will be replacing the bridge over Buck Creek, Iowa Department of Transportation officials (IDOT) said.

A marked detour route will direct traffic around the work zone using Bremer County roads V-56, C-33 and V-62.

IDOT officials said a hot-mix asphalt pavement resurfacing project is scheduled on Iowa 93 in Tripoli. In a related project, workers will also be replacing sanitary storm sewers on the highway between Tripoli and Sumner.

Iowa 93 traffic will be guided away from the construction zone using Bremer County roads V-43, C-33 and V-56 until at least July 28. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early October.
