Charges are pending against a Plainfield motorist, who drove off a Bremer County road over the weekend.


The accident was reported to the Bremer County Sheriff, shortly after 4:30pm Saturday (Jan. 26).

It happened northwest of Janesville on Cottage Avenue; 39 year old Crystal Lorenzen was driving west, but failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

Her vehicle ended up in a ditch. Lorenzen had to be extricated from the vehicle; she was taken to the Waverly hospital after complaining of an injury. A passenger was not hurt.

The Bremer County Sheriff is investigating the accident, and charges are pending against Lorenzen.

The sheriff was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Janesville Fire Department, Janesville 1st Responders, and Waverly Ambulance.
