Cedar Falls police are looking for whoever is responsible for crashing a car into a local business, causing an estimated $15,000 in damage.

The incident happened at Mr. Guns, 305 Roosevelt St., around 9:30 PM Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2018).

"It looks as though the vehicle came in and rammed the garage a couple of times," said Capt. Mike Hayes, Cedar Falls police investigator. "We're not sure what happened after that or why they did it. More than likely, it was to steal guns."

According to Hayes, no one entered the business and nothing was taken in the incident.

The car that police believe was used in the botched burglary has been recovered, Hayes said. He would not confirm where the vehicle was found or if it was reported stolen.

"That's part of the on-going investigation," Hayes said. "Right now, we're talking to people and collecting evidence."

No one has been arrested in the case. Anyone with information should contact Cedar Falls police at 319-273-8612.
