IOWA & UNI FOOTBALL 2014 SCHEDULES RELEASED:
The Iowa Hawkeyes and the University of Northern Iowa Panthers both kick off the 2014 football season against each other in Iowa City (August 30th).  Ticket information for both was also released.

WOMAN SHATTERS 72-OUNCE STEAK-EATING WORLD RECORD:
Molly Schuyler recently took down a 72 ounce steak to set a new world record. Schuyler broke the world record for fastest eating of a 72 ounce steak (and sides) at Sayler's Old County Kitchen in Portland, Oregon. She ate it in two minutes, 44 seconds. The previous record was a bit under seven minutes.

Officials said Tuesday that fairgoers will go “cashless” in 2014. Instead, visitors will buy tickets to use at food concessions and to ride the Giant Slide. The Midway is not included in the new plan.

State Fair spokeswoman Lori Chappell said the new system is designed to provide security and convenience for vendors and fairgoers. Some fairgoers said the hassle of waiting in line or trying to predict how many tickets they will need could be enough to make them stay home.

There will be about 50 locations throughout the fairgrounds to buy tickets and the tickets will also be available online, Chappell said.

Tickets will be worth 50 cents apiece and can be bought with a debit or credit card, Chappell said. There will not be refunds, but tickets do not expire; those not used in 2014 would still be good next year.

MAN CLAIMS CHARGERS SHOULD NOT BE IN PLAYOFFS, SO HE IS SUING THE NFL:
A Pittsburgh Steelers fan is upset at the NFL that his team did not make the playoffs.  So much so that he has he decided to file a motion in Pennsylvania court saying the Chargers shouldn't be in the playoffs. The man is seeking a 'temporary emergency injunction' calling for the NFL to suspend the playoffs for seven-to-10 days so that this issue can be resolved.

On the final week of the regular season, Kansas City kicker Ryan Succop missed a 41-yard field against the Chargers that would have given the Chiefs the win and sent the Steelers to the playoffs.  Even worse, the Chargers should've been flagged for illegal alignment on the kick. If officials had called the penalty, Succop would have had another kick, but this time, from five-yards closer.

The man says the officials were 'negligent' and 'fraudulent' when they missed the call.  The injunction was filed last week, according to the Baltimore Sun, but the man is in jail and had to file the injunction using inmate mail through the Pennsylvania corrections department, which may explain why the injunction didn't come to light until Wednesday.

To rectify the situation involving the Steelers and Chargers, the man suggests letting Succop re-kick the field goal or possibly letting the two teams play on a neutral field to see who gets the playoff berth.
