A three-goal outburst in the second period lifted the Waterloo Black Hawks to a 4-1 win against the Tri-City Storm Friday at Viaero Center (Kearney, Nebraska) on Friday, October 30, 2015.

Georgs Golovkovs picked up his second goal in as many nights to open the scoring in the first period. Sliding through the left circle, the Latvian forward put a low shot past the left skate of netminder Matthew Greenfield in transition at 14:27.

The Black Hawks exploded for three quick scores during the mid-second period. The sequence started just after a power play had concluded; Garrett Wait stuffed a puck into the net on a rebound at 12:30. Less than two minutes later, Marshall Moise cashed in a faceoff win, firing a shot to the top corner from the high slot. The scoring series finished at 15:33, when Liam Pecararo found Ronnie Hien speeding to the net; the Waterloo captain snapped a wrist shot inside the post.

Tri-City took one step the opposite direction before intermission, with a Collin Rutherford goal as 38 seconds remained in the frame.

Waterloo closed out the win during a scoreless third period. Although Tri-City outshot the Hawks 9-5 in the period, Waterloo had a 24-23 edge in chances for the contest. Cale Morris picked up the win with 22 saves.

Added to a 3-2 overtime victory Thursday, this is the first time Waterloo has claimed two wins in Kearney during the same season since 2008/09.

The Hawks play their third consecutive United States Hockey League road game next Friday against the Sioux Falls Stampede. The following evening, Waterloo will return home to host the Omaha Lancers on Peanuts Night; fans in attendance will have the opportunity to meet Snoopy and Charlie Brown, while the first 500 will receive free movie popcorn or soda from Marcus Theaters.
