Four of 13 players acknowledged by United States Hockey League coaches and general managers with a place on the All-USHL First and Second Teams are Waterloo Black Hawks, the league announced on Thursday.

Defenseman Brandon Montour was named to the All-USHL First Team. Forward Peter Krieger, defenseman Mark Friedman, and goaltender Cal Petersen snagged Second Team accolades. The Black Hawks have never previously had four players on the All-USHL First and Second Teams during the same season.

Montour, the recently-crowned USHL Player of the Year and USHL Defensemen of the Year, finished ninth overall in scoring with 62 points (14 goals, 48 assists). He amassed an 18-game point streak from December through February, while the Hawks went 16-1-1. The Ohsweken, Ontario native also ranked fifth in the League with a +35 plus/minus differential. He is committed to the University of Massachusetts.

Ending the regular season with a 27-7-4 record, Petersen tied for the USHL lead in victories. His 2.50 goals-against-average ranked sixth among goalies on the circuit. During one midseason stretch, Petersen was unbeaten in regulation for 16 straight games, including 12 consecutive victories. The Waterloo, Iowa native will play college hockey at the University of Notre Dame and was a 2013 NHL Draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres.

Friedman was fourth in scoring among USHL defensemen with 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) over 51 regular season games. The Toronto, Ontario native posted a +22 rating to rank 20th overall in the USHL. He is a top prospect for the upcoming 2014 NHL Draft as he was ranked #124 among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. Friedman is committed to play college hockey at Bowling Green State University.

Waterloo’s leading scorer, Krieger appeared in all 60 regular season games and put up 67 points (26 goals, 41 assists), ranking fifth overall in the USHL. He also posted a +26 rating to tie for 12th in the League. The Oakdale, Minnesota native is committed to play college hockey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

The Black Hawks resume the Clark Cup Finals on Friday, visiting the Indiana Ice for Game Three during the best-of-five series. Waterloo and Indiana are currently tied at one win apiece.
