The Waterloo Black Hawks bid to capture the United States Hockey League's Western Conference and best overall record comes down to the final night of the regular season.

Tonight (April 14) is the final night for the 2017/18 regular season for the USHL, and a lot of playoff questions remain unanswered. 11 of the 12 teams have been determined, but who everyone will face is still up in the air.

For the Waterloo Black Hawks, a first round bye is locked, but a Western Conference championship and an Anderson Cup (awarded to the best overall regular season record) is still in sight, but still not secured.

A win tonight at Young Arena against the Des Moines Buccaneers will earn the Black Hawks the Western Conference regular season title, and home-ice advantage during their first two rounds during the USHL Playoffs. A loss by the Omaha Lancers during regulation would also hand Waterloo the title.

A win coupled with a Team USA loss in regulation would push Waterloo to the top of the league with the best regular season record and the Anderson Cup winner.

The final regular season game for the Waterloo Black Hawks begins tonight (April 14, 2018) at Young Arena. Doors open a 6:05 PM, and the action begins at 7:05 PM. The Black Hawks will auction this season’s game-worn white and black jerseys as well tonight.

The live auction will begin immediately following Waterloo’s game against the Des Moines Buccaneers. All fans interested in making a bid should register for a bid number at the Express Employment Professionals Fan Services Table at some point during Saturday’s game.

Black Hawks players will continue to wear these sweaters during the USHL’s Clark Cup Playoffs. The jerseys will be available to pick up following Waterloo’s playoff run. Winning bidders may request that an individual player or the entire team sign the jersey before pickup.
