Almost 700 people were in attendance Thursday night, enjoying "Cocktails with Chris", a fundraiser for a new community center in Arlington.

The event was held at the Marriott Hotel in Cedar Rapids, and featured everyone's favorite "Prince Farming", Chris Soules, the star of this year's "Bachelor" program on ABC television.

Soules, who continues to farm near Arlington, made his appearance shortly after the festivities began.

The host for the evening was KCRG TV-9 anchor Nichole Agee. The night included food, drink, silent auction, plus a live auction, featuring some of the local bachelors of Arlington.
The men are also on a calendar, produced to raise funds for the proposed new center.

They took time to sign and sell calendars, then be auctioned off to the highest bidders, some getting well over $1,000 just for one date.

Later in the evening, an auction was held for a boat tour for a group of six people, with Chris Soules, which eventually sold for $13,000.

When all was totaled, the evening raised over $23,000 for the new Arlington Community Center.
