The Oelwein Fire Department was summoned by an automatic alarm at a local business Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called to Quality Plus, located at the Oelwein Industrial Park, at about 9:30pm, when an alarm went off.

There was no fire, however there was some carbon monoxide in the air, which triggered the alarm. It was suspected that welding that had been done earlier in the day, may have left some residual fumes in the building.

No one was injured, and there was no damage.

The Oelwein Fire Department stayed at the scene until the building could be vented and aired-out.
