Better late than never, though still incredibly tardy to the party, Marvel has finally come to their senses: Black Widow is getting her very own movie. After years of promising to give everyone’s favorite Avenger a proper outing (and after just about everyone involved in the MCU urged them to do so), the studio has tapped a screenwriter for Scarlett Johansson’s long-overdue solo film — and she’s a promising one, too.

New Netflix Instant Releases: December 2017
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…Baby Groot nipping at your toes… That’s right. Netflix is giving subscribers an early Christmas gift in December as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits the streaming service — just in time for your family gatherings (or avoidance thereof). Unfortunately, with Disney set to launch their own streaming service, you won’t be able to enjoy the studio’s films on Netflix for much longer. Thankfully, there are a ton of other great, non-Disney movies hitting the service next month.
What’s Expiring From Netflix: December 2017
Bad news, everyone: All 11 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are leaving Netflix next month. Good news: There’s plenty of great stuff — including Baby Groot! — coming to the streaming service in December. But just as tons of new titles are added, so must several others expire. It is the streaming circle of life. And time is running out for you to catch up with these titles before they’re gone — possibly for good.
‘Wonder Woman’ Is Now the Best-Reviewed Superhero Movie of All Time
With a record-breaking worldwide box office gross of over $821 million and an official Oscar campaign, the latest update on Wonder Woman’s global dominance probably won‘t surprise you: Gal Gadot’s solo adventure is now the best-reviewed superhero film of all time, according to the results of a new analysis from Rotten Tomatoes. Lucasfilm Is Planning the Next 10 Years of ‘Star Wars’ Movies
With the current Star Wars trilogy set to conclude in 2019, some fans have already begun wondering what’s next for the prolific franchise. Lucasfilm has a few spinoffs in the works, including an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie (possibly with Ewan McGregor) and the upcoming Solo (which recently wrapped production), but the future of the core series hasn’t exactly been at the forefront of public discussion — until now.
Some Theaters Are Refusing to Show ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’
While Disney and Lucasfilm are preparing to unleash Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters on December 15, some theater owners aren’t feeling the Force — specifically, the demands Disney has in place for screenings and their cut of the profits. Although most moviegoers in larger markets with bigger theaters won’t have to worry about missing out on the next chapter in the Star Wars saga, fans in smaller cities might get burned.
‘Fast and Furious 9’ Bringing Back Director Justin Lin and Jordana Brewster
Ya boy Vin Diesel is back on that breaking news beat. In a new “secret” Facebook livestream, your number one source for all things Vin Diesel revealed that two key members of the Fast and Furious fam are returning for the ninth installment in the series: Director Justin Lin (who previously helmed the fourth, fifth and sixth films) and Jordana Brewster (who hasn’t appeared in the series since Furious 7’s farewell to Paul Walker).
What’s Leaving Netflix: November 2017
Alright, you know the drill: Just as the Netflix lords giveth, so too must they taketh away — which is to say that as dozens of new movies and TV shows hit the streaming service next month, several will be making their exit…possibly for good. November’s expiring titles include a handful of Wachowskis faves (including The Matrix trilogy), Twilight (sorry, YA lovers), Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, and all nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother.
