Cedar Falls police arrested one person after investigating an attempted burglary.

On Wednesday (7/16) morning, around 4:00 A.M., Cedar Falls Police were called to a residence near the Hartman Reserve area to investigate an attempted burglary.  Police were called to 1706 Grand Blvd in Cedar Falls for a report of a person trying to break into that home's attached garage.

Upon arrival, Cedar Falls Police officers caught the individual still trying to break into the garage.  Police arrested 26 year old Elijah Theodore Karns on the scene and charged him with:

  • Attempted Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a class "D" Felony
  • Possession of Burglar's Tools, an Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor

Karn's last known address was 208 State Street in Waterloo.
