Area Road Construction Updates

Road construction season in the Cedar Valley is in full swing.  Several small and large projects dot the roadway landscape.  Here are the highlights of the major road construction projects that may effect you travels (as of July 10, 2014).

I-380 southbound: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between Exit 70: River Forest Road and Exit 72: East San Marnan Drive (near Evansdale). The roadway is reduced to one lane due to road construction work. There is a width limit in effect. Expect delays. Width limit 12'0". Until tomorrow at about 4:00PM CDT.

I-380 in both directions: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between Exit 71: US 20; US 218; IA 27 and Exit 73: US 218; I-380 Ends (near Evansdale). The roadway is reduced to one lane because of night time construction work. From 7:00PM CDT to 6:00AM CDT on weekdays. Until tomorrow at about 6:00AM CDT.

I-380 in both directions: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between Exit 71: US 20; US 218; IA 27 and Exit 72: East San Marnan Drive (Evansdale). The roadway is reduced to one lane because of night time construction work. Until tomorrow at about 6:00AM CDT.

I-380 in both directions: Intermittent lane closure.

Between Exit 71: US 20; US 218; IA 27 and Exit 73: US 218; I-380 Ends (near Evansdale). A lane is closed intermittently because of bridge maintenance work. From 7:00AM CDT to 6:00PM CDT on weekdays. Until September 22.

IA 9 in both directions: Road construction.

between County Road T62 (near Riceville) and US 63 (7 miles west of the Cresco area). Road construction work is in progress. Until October 1.

IA 14 in bother directions: Roadway reduced to one lane

Between IA 3 (near Allison) and US 18 (near Charles City). The roadway is reduced to one lane due to road construction work. Look out for flaggers. A pilot car is in operation. There is a width limit in effect. Width limit 16'0". From 7:00AM CDT to 7:00PM CDT on weekdays. Until August 12.

IA 14 in both directions: Alternating lane closures.

between County Road D53 and IA 175 (5 miles south of the Grundy Center area). There are alternating lane closures because of road maintenance activities. There is a width limit in effect. A pilot car is in operation. Look out for flaggers. Width limit 16'0". Until August 1.

US 18: Road Closed.

Between County Road B57 and County Road B54 (near New Hampton). Road closed due to road construction work. Detour in operation. Starting 7:00AM CDT, 7/14/2014 until July 19.

US 20 in both directions: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between Exit 181: County Road S56 and Exit 208: IA 14 (near Wellsburg). The roadway is reduced to one lane due to bridge construction work. Until July 25.

US 20 in both directions: Intermittent lane closure.

between Exit 224: IA 58; Hudson Road (Cedar Falls) and Exit 71A: I-380; US 218; US 218 (Evansdale). A lane is closed intermittently because of bridge maintenance work. From 7:00AM CDT to 6:00PM CDT on weekdays. Until September 22.

US 20 in both directions: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between Exit 275: IA 13 and Exit 277: County Road D5X also known as Jefferson Road (near Manchester). The roadway is reduced to one lane due to bridge construction work. Until August 29.

U.S. 63 in Black Hawk County Near Allen Hospital (April 2013 -Nov. 2014)

Work continues on the two-year U.S. 63 reconstruction from Newell Street to Donald Street at the north edge of Waterloo.

US 63: Intersecting road closed.

Between US 218 and County Road C66 (near Waterloo). The intersecting road is closed because of road maintenance activities. Until November 14.

**Parker St east of US 63 will be closed 5-28-14 to 6-20-14
**Esther St east of US 63 will be closed 6-19-14 to 7-18-14**

Between US 218 and County Road C66 (near Waterloo). The roadway is reduced to two lanes due to road construction work. There is a width limit in effect. Width limit 11'0". Until October 27.

IA 175 in both directions: Alternating lane closures.

Between County Road S55 and County Road S75 (near Eldora). There are alternating lane closures due to road construction work. Look out for flaggers. A pilot car is in operation. There is a width limit in effect. Width limit 16'0". From 7:00AM CDT to 7:00PM CDT on weekdays. Until July 7.

IA 175 in both directions: Alternating lane closures.

between County Road S55 and County Road S75 (near Eldora). There are alternating lane closures due to road construction work. Look out for flaggers. A pilot car is in operation. There is a width limit in effect. Width limit 16'0". From 7:00AM CDT to 7:00PM CDT on weekdays.

between County Road T19 (7 miles east of the Eldora area) and IA 14 (7 miles west of Grundy Center). There are alternating lane closures because of road maintenance activities. There is a width limit in effect. A pilot car is in operation. Look out for flaggers. Width limit 16'0". Until August 1.

US 218 in both directions: Intermittent lane closure.

between US 63 (Waterloo) and County Road C57 (Cedar Falls). A lane is closed intermittently because of bridge maintenance work. From 7:00AM CDT to 6:00PM CDT on weekdays. Until September 22.

US 218 in both directions: Roadway reduced to one lane.

Between IA 116 (near Waverly) and US 18 (Charles City). The roadway is reduced to one lane due to road construction work. There is a width limit in effect. Width limit 16'0". Until August 28.

US 218: Single line traffic - alternating directions.

Between County Road D65 and County Road D46 (near La Porte City). Expect single line traffic alternating directions due to bridge construction work. Look out for temporary traffic lights. There is a width limit in effect. There is a height limit in effect. Width limit 13'6". Height limit 15'0". Until July 31.
