Area Man Charged with Child Porn on Cell Phone

A Northeast Iowa man is being charged with having child pornography on his cell phone.

54 year old Jeffrey Kirk of Charles city was charged Tuesday with 7 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Charles City police had executed a search warrant Friday (May 27th) at a residence in the 300 block of 10th Avenue, and seized several items from the home and garage.

After the search, Kirk was arrested at the scene.

Kirk allegedly downloaded seven images or videos of child porn onto his cell phone, from the internet.

Kirk was being held in the Floyd County jail on $14,000 bond; his initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday (June 6th).
