Accidents happen quick, it's what happens after that can take some time.  On a Friday just before PROM, the Junior and Senior classes at Waverly-Shell Rock High School were invited to observe an accident simulation.  This event was used as an educational tool, to demonstrate what happens and who is involved after the accident.  From the dispatchers and EMTs, to the Police and County Coroner, everyone has their part and it all takes time.

A debriefing was held after the "accident" so that students could talk about what they say, how they felt, ask questions of the actors playing rolls of the victims, ask questions of the professionals involved and reflect on the situation.

After watching, I have a new found respect for those who are trained to "pick up the pieces" after the accidents happen.

Safe travels everyone.
