The sixth-ranked Wartburg Knights muscled their way to a 42-9 Homecoming win against the Dubuque Spartans on Saturday, October 18, 2014. The win moves the Knights to 6-0 on the year and 3-0 in Iowa Conference play.

The Knights got on to the scoreboard first thanks to a 14-yard touchdown pass from Logan Schrader to Brandon Domeyer. On the first possession of the game, the Spartans would answer to even the score at 7-7.

Later in the first half, Schrader would find Robbie Anstoetter for a 23-yard touchdown pass. The two would connect one more time before halftime giving the Knights a 20-7 lead at the break.

Wartburg wasted no time getting the second half started marching down the field to score a touchdown in under a minute, and they never looked back winning 42-9.

Schrader finished 11-20-1 for 133 yards and two touchdowns.

Anstoetter led all receivers with 43 yards on three catches for two touchdowns.

Junior Gunner Tranel (Cedar Rapids) led the defense with 11 tackles (4 solo, 7 assists) and classmate Will Janssen (Mediapolis) joined him in double digits with 10 tackles.

Wartburg returns to the field next Saturday as they host Luther at 1 p.m.
