In the 2000 Olympic Games, the USA played France and Vince Carter wow'd the sports world.

Vince Carter stands at 6'6" tall and after a steal, he went to the rim versus 7'2" Frederic Weis. You can see Weis standing tall and waiting for Carter to run into him to draw a charge. But Vince Carter has one of the best vertical leaps the game has ever seen. Carter literally jumped OVER Weis for the best in-game dunk of all time.

See the video here:

It always makes me laugh that Carter almost punches Kevin Garnett in the face with his celebratory fist pump. (I'm glad he didn't.)

USA went on to play France again in the gold medal game beating them 85-75 and winning their 12th gold medal in 14 tries in men's basketball.

***BONUS*** 8 months before that, Vince Carter won the 2000 NBA Dunk Contest.  To get a full understanding how high Carter can jump, pay attention to the 6:34 mark of the video. He hangs on the rim with his ELBOW!

He called it after his 2nd dunk, "IT'S OVER!"
